PSYCHOSEXUAL ISSUES

PSYCHOSEXUAL ISSUES

There are many studies that evidence that around 50 percent of people will experience sexually related difficulties at some stage during their lifetime. Some common difficulties include loss of sexual interest and arousal, problems with orgasm and pain during sexual encounters. Problems in our sexual life can be a huge source of strain on a relationship causing distress and embarrassment, impacting confidence and self-esteem.   We know that this is an area where people are particularly reluctant to seek help for fear of embarrassment and humiliation.   We also know that problems in our relationships can have a huge impact on well-being and mental health. Seeking support with psychosexual difficulties can bring comfort and relief. Sexual problems can stem from psychological issues, physical conditions or are commonly a combination of these factors.   Therapy can help us to explore and understand what might be at the root of the difficulties bringing comfort, alleviating distress and helping to improve symptoms.
